On the eighth day leading to the Mayan apocalypse this thought came to me…
Michael Stipe had so much fun with Chris Martin at the 12/12/12 concert that he convinced all of REM to reunite for one last benefit concert.
“We can’t have a benefit concert after the world ends, cause well, no one would show up,” explained Stipe. “So we’re having a pre-end-of-world concert for The Mayan, If We Hadn’t Been Vaporized We’d Definitely Need Relief, Relief Fund.”
Stipe added, “It’s really sad what happened, umm I mean what will happen. The world ending will be tough for everyone to deal with. I feel it’s the least we could do, because it’s the end of the world as we know it, but it’s ok…I feel fine!”
