Well we’ve started the first full work week of 2013.

2012 is behind us and I was lucky enough to take almost two full weeks off at the end of the year. One of my 2012 New Years Resolutions was to use my PTO and take more time off. Which thankfully was one resolution I was pretty good at keeping.

But, as a result, I didn’t post much in the past couple of weeks. So, I think it’s high time I finally get around to doing my 2012 wrap-up.

This was my first full year of blogging and I tallied over 2 posts a week. Some weeks more. Some less. But, all in all it’s clear that Cubeopolis provides an awful lot of material.

What were my top posts, defined by views, for the year?

• The Anatomy of a Meeting. – My chronicles from an office meeting. Pretty self explanatory.
• Sincerely All The Best Regards Love and Cheers! – The email signature and how it’s devolved.
• He got the job because the suit fit. – Taking a look at “dressing the part” in the work world.

What were my favorite posts? These were just a few.

• To be a dick or not to be a dick…that is the question. – I will not be the recipient of the Asshole Merit Badge!
• Where the hell did these people learn to pee? – I’m pretty sure I have bathroom issues…all because my coworkers have serious bathroom issues!
• Math. Clearly You Don’t Get That Shit. - Getting the most out of your employees.

Many people seem to stumble across my little ol’ blog by way of my Twitter and my tweets. Many others seem to find it by way of some random search term. My favorite search term which led someone to my site was:

“Cousin Eddie Shitters Full” – which leads one to It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas…yeah CHRISTMAS!

On most days, my little ol’ site gets around 30ish views. But, on the day The Anatomy of a Meeting posted, I had a record day – 230 views. WOW! Who are all you people?

Perhaps one of my favorite things was being recognized on BlogHer – no apparently you don’t have to be a woman to be on the site, although I do know what it’s like to feel like a woman. On July 5, 2012 I was featured on the BlogHer Spotlight. So cool.

Speaking of being recognized, I’m feeling the need to recognize others. So, I’m going to hand out some awards. The votes are in. And, the envelopes are ready for the first annual Cubeys.

This prestigious award is represented by a very appropriate trophy – the Golden Desk Chair.

The Cubey – Of course it’s not really gold. However, it is really uncomfortable.

So without further ado (whatever that is), let’s hand out a few awards.

The award for “Most Loyal Commenter” goes to Lynne over at Free Penny Press. Clearly my misery provides her with comfort or happiness that she’s not me. P.S. her blog is fantastically unique.

The award for “Man Who’d Really Like To Have A Job, But Is Trapped In A Housewife’s Body” goes to The Manwife Chronicles. My happiest moment was when I explained to him how you could put all of your sheets into one pillowcase for storage. Couldn’t help him with folding a fitted sheet though.

The award for “Blog/Blogger I Most Admire” goes to The Bloggess. Why you may ask? Well, she routinely garners more comments on a single post in a single day than my busiest day of views. She also has a book…and went on tour (way better than sitting in a cube).

The Cubey for “Guy Who’s Most Likely My Long Lost Cube Brother” goes to Meeting Boy. Clearly I either work with him or he’s me in a parallel universe.

The award for best “Community Of Bloggers Site” goes to…wait, what…it’s a tie! Studio30+ and A Nervous Tic Motion. An eclectic group of writers just nutty enough to allow me participate in their shenanigans.
